Meetup Groups meet face-to-face to pursue hobbies, network, get support, make friends, find playgroups or even change the world!
Get on the Internet to get off the Internet!
You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!
This month we'll meet at Texspresso again -- it seemed to work pretty well last time. It's just off MoPac on West Anderson near the Alamo Drafthouse in the strip mall there. It's on the north side of Anderson, at the light for Northcross. Again, my cell number is 512-484-6622 if you get lost.
Our swap theme for May is "Haiku" -- make 2 cards with haikus on them. A haiku is a short, three-line poem with a specific rhythm, just short enough to fit nicely onto an ATC. The first line consists of five syllables, the second line has seven, and the third line has five. For example:
old pond
a frog jumps
the sound of water
-- Basho, 17th century
Or, there's this modern haiku, written from the cat's point of view:
The rule for today:
Touch my tail, I shred your hand.
New rule tomorrow.
-- anonymous
If you've got other cards available to trade, bring them along too!
May's meeting was awesome -- I'm looking forward to seeing you again and meeeting our new members!
