About SF Bay Area Artist Trading Cards Meetup Group

Artist Trading Cards are both a pastime and a passion. Artists from around the world create them and trade them amongst themselves through word of mouth, online groups, and in-person trading sessions and shows. Collectors of artist trading cards may or may not be artists themselves but are fascinated by their variety and perhaps the subterranean nature of their existence. Artist trading cards are small works of art, the same size as sports trading cards (2.5 x 3.5 inches, or 63.5 x 88.9 mm). Other than their size, there aren't really any rules. They can be made from almost any material and in pretty much any style.

There are lots of opportunities to trade ATCs online but there aren't nearly enough in-person trading sessions. This group was started in March 2005 by Carla Cryptic to change that. During the first two years, she made it a great success. Carla stepped down as Organizer last year due to health reasons. We are grateful that she created this group and we carry on in her spirit of openess, artistic exploration and fun.

If you are interested in ATCs, or are already an active ATC maker and trader, come to one of our Meetups and share your art with us. We enjoy making ATCs, trying new techniques and trading the results at every meeting.
