Hi folks...........
Are there any UK......... 'arties that would be interested in swapping
fiber-ish- art........in 'artistic trading cards' sizes perhaps?
I am in East Yorkshire myself, so anyone local to the area, well, we might meet up for a coffee/tea and a natter?

Having said that, if anyone overseas is interested in taking part, well why not indeed!! You may just have further to come for a coffee and a chat!

I'm happy to try and coordinate the exchanges though it may be possible to each post out to say 5 or 10 people, so we make 5 or 10 small pieces of art work but thats up for discussion once we have interested parties?

Could be good fun to swap with 'strangers' and end up making friends?!

What do you think?

Hi Lyn

I too am interested in ATC's but cannot find a group local to my area. I like textile art embroidery stamping and paper collage. I have links abroad but none in the UK.
If you would like to trade with me please get in touch

Hi Sandra,
Nice to meet you....... 'local' is I imagine, as far as you fancy driving in a day anyway! Fortuneatly the motorways twixt us are reasonably good and the GPO do manage to get mail through to Yorkshire!
Would love to swap but am so far cant suss how to contact you other than this discussion thyread?....................any idea what the next step is?
I assume I have to shell out a monthly payment, as well as signing up?
Or am I missing something obvious here? Help!

hmmmm.........lol

Okay reading between the lines! I love the idea of trading small art pieces and envisage, hopefully, possibly placing some on a painted canvas, so they present as a cumulative, but 'whole' piece to hang up? If that makes sense! I moved into a c1900 terraced house in january, in Hull and have so much wall space now to make use of now!
I used to swap miniatures afew years ago, worldwide, with the then, Hands of Friendship Group that was run out of Australia. It was such a nice way to 'chat' to folk you may never had the chance to meet otherwise and the spirit of making things for someone else..........still strikes me a lovely ethos.
I am lucky, my job is devising and making tactile learning resources for visually impaired children predominantly though with some hearing impaired now too. Its my therapy in many ways!
It enables me to dabble in many crafts but I mostly concentrate on textile/felted collage, hand and machine stitched patchwork and they to be all hanging pieces though I have made felted handbags for some friends.
What do you do as work?
I'm also involved in cat rescue and fund raising and my email reflects this liniecat@liniecat. I have a 4/5 week old kitten currently needing a home, ready in two weeks all being well if your interested?( @karoo.co.uk)
Shes black and so malnourished she needs some tender handling but her emaciated mum is doing the best she can........now! with some caring help.
We went on saturday to retrieve her off a 'threepence short of the shilling' bloke who had promised her to us, only to find the kittens still had blue eyes, so were way younger than he'd told us and he'd already homes 3 of them.................for cash undoubtedly......and they werent even weaned off mum! We have homes lined up in time for mum and the other kitten, just wish I could get the other three who stand no chance at being taken away from mum so young............
Okay hope to hear from you. Did you had a good BH weekend? ..............over far too soon aren't they!
